Boxwood is a prestigious mature community nestled between two golf courses. Markham Green Gold Course to the north and Parkvew Golf Course to the south. Most houses are single detached with many featuring pools, golf course views and triple car garages and large lots.
In the center of the community you will find Boxwood Public School, JK-8. Boxwood officially opened in April 2001 and in 2009 there were about 521 students. Boxwood is surrounded by green belt and is basically cut-off from other subdivisions.

Out of the total population, 46% were South Asians and 23% were Chinese. Out of the total population, 68% of their mother tongues were neither English nor French. The population in this area is well educated.
